Glossary — words and states used in Orchestrate

A reference for the terms and screen states you'll meet in Orchestrate and Videri. Companion to the operator manual; nothing here is a procedure, just definitions.

Screen states — and which system owns them

The single most common confusion is treating these as one thing. They are independent: a panel can be perfectly healthy in Videri and still show no ads, and vice versa.

StateSet inMeansWhen it's not true
LiveOrchestrateWe request ads for this screen. This is the ad-tech switch.Screen exists and may be playing venue content, but earns nothing.
OnlineVideriThe panel is connected to the internet and reachable.Videri can't reach it — check power and internet at the venue.
Plays venue contentVideriThe panel has at least one thing scheduled — either the venue posted content, or our initial content was pushed. The Videri logo shows instead. Nothing is scheduled.
Open / ClosedOrchestrate (from Google hours)The venue is inside its opening hours right now. Ads only run while open.No ads are requested — correct behaviour, not a fault.
Venue offlineOrchestrateThe whole venue is switched off; every screen in it stops, whatever their own Live setting.
ArchivedOrchestrateSoft-deleted and hidden from normal lists. Restorable.

A screen only earns when all of these line up: Live, Online, the venue is Open, and the venue itself is not offline.

Two further Videri content states show up occasionally:

Play log states

Each play reads left to right: ad server → CMS → screen pull.
